The Christmas seal homes operated by Filha’s predecessor, the Finnish Tuberculosis Resistance Association, operated in Tampere from 1936 to 1973, in Oulu from 1945 to 1969, and in Kuopio from 1954 to 1964. In addition, P\u00e4lk\u00e4ne had a side branch of the Tampere Christmas Seal Home in the years 1939\u20131948. The association financed the activity by selling special Christmas seals (stamps).<\/span><\/p>\n

In November 2016, Filha handed over the archive of Christmas seal homes to the National Archives.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

A person who was cared for as a child in a Christmas seal home receives all information about themselves, but not information about the health status or health and medical treatment of his parents or siblings that may be included in the documents, unless 50 years have passed since their death. The confidentiality of this information is based on the Act on the Status and Rights of the Patient (785\/1992) and the Personal Data Act (523\/1999).<\/span><\/p>\n
